RIDERS IN ENGLAND.
AUSTRALIAN’S VIEWS. An Australian at present In England writes to a Sydney paper: "Carslake Is still going strongly. He will ride again this year for Mr J. B. Joel and, as usual, his retainer Is high. Donoghuo Is back In England, and will ride for the Sassoon stable. Richards and Wragg will do most of the Aga Khan's riding. The latter Is, to my view, the best distance rider In England. He Is patient and does not want to be In front until ..near the winning post. i have seen most of the riders In England, and In France, Germany and Belgium for the last two year 3, can honestly say that Pike, Munro, and Duncan compare more than favourably with any of them. Munro would bo just as successful as Frank Bullock, as his style would appeal to English owners and trainers. But any Jockey from Australia must have a retainer and cast-iron contract before he decides to come to England.”.
