THE SABBATH.
(To the Editor.) We have received a lengthy letter frorm Mr Ewen McGregor dealing with the keeping of the Sabbath in ’.vhioh the writer contends “that the Sabbat, Dav is a perpetual covenant be twee. God and His people.” H ®. qut l* •' Leviticus xxvi, 2-14 to show ’.the, Importance of rightful Sabbath obse ance, the blessings promised therefor and the penalties for breaking the covenant. The writer then goes on tc say: “Our fathers In the keeping oi the Sabbath Day evidently satisfice God, because He has delivered the goods promised.” Mr McGregoi ascribes the cause of the present depression to the fact that the covenant is not being observed. Regarding Mr F. A. de la Marc s reference to the legality of Sunday golf and tennis, Mr McGregor states. “Parliament has thereby broken the covenant made by God, of the Sabba.n Day being a perpetual sign between God and His people, and evident!-* God has withdrawn His hand and allowed this desperate depression. Moral: See that men are returned to Parliament to revise the law.”
