FARMERS’ UNION.
Sir, —Mr Furniss in reply to my letter, somewhat questions whether it was written by a farmer. This is somewhat akin to a delegate to the conference .when speaking against the appointment otVa board to control the railways said that “there was some hand operating behind the scene." These Country Party propagandists seem to steep themselves in suspicion, and like 'the pharisee of old tay: "Thank God we are hot like other men are!" They think everyone is imbued with ulterior motives except themselves. Yes! Mr Furniss I am a farmer —one among the majority of farmers in the Waikato who object to the Farmers' Union being used’ as a cloak to further a political party. When farmers are asked to join the Farmers' Union they are assured that party politics are not allowed in the union, and later the executive decide to support a political party. That Is wliy 1 resigned from the Farmers’ Union.—l am, etc., ~ , ~ FARMER. Cambridge, May 25, 1931. 1
