PROSECUTION AT AUCKLAND. FIRST IN THE DISTRICT. .AUCKLAND, Tuesday. “ We are not trying to get blood out of a stone, being 'satisfied that this man can meet his obligations,” stated the Labour Department representative when Frederick Stephen Millar, farmer, of Whltford, was proceeded against at Otahuhu for failure to pay the unemployment levy. This was the first prosecution in the Auckland district. The magsitrate, Mr Levien, reserved his decision. He is to confer with other magistrates on this type of case.
