United Steel (common) equalled the 1924 low point of 04i and closed at 94§ (off .44). Steady liquidation continued throughout the session with little support shown. Railways dropped generally, as did leading industries At-chison closed at 1464, which is the lowest level for that issue for 20 years. American telephone and telegraphs closed at 163 (off 41) ; Auburn Automobile, 185 (off 221) ; General Electric (38J off 1 id) General Motors, 351 (off 21) American Foreign Power, 20 (off 21).
