GOLDEN WEDDING.
MR AND MRS D. McL. WALLACE. The fiftieth anniversary of the wedding of Mr and Mrs D. McL. Wallace, of Te Aroha, was celebrated on Saturday, when four sons, 13 grandchildren and several friends who had known the principals for 50 years were present. At the gathering was Mrs Gall, sister of Mr Wallace, who had been a bridesmaid at the wedding. The children presented their grandparents with a travelling clock, while on behalf of the Presbyterian Church the Rev. H. B. Hughes presented them with a wedding cake. In the evening there was a large gathering at the residence of Mr and Mrs D. McL. Wallace, Ruakaka, when they, were presented with an easy chair, and handsome fur respectively. telegrams were received from friends throughout the province. * Mr and Mrs Wallace were married at the residence of the bride’s parents by the Rev. Canon Calder on May 24, 1881. The bride was the second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. B. Dawson, of Whatawhata, and the bridegroom the second son of Mr and Mrs Charles Wallace, of Ngaruawahia.
