How to preserve beans: Have a wooden bucket or barrel, put in about 21b common salt, then add daily the sliced beans and more salt, Should there not be enough brine to cover beans, add a little water (a pint or quart), when the barrel is almost full; cover with a plate weighed down with a stone.
