THE NGARUAWAHIA CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING TO-DAY. MANGU KING WINS THE TRIAL. TRADESMEN’S TO FRASER. The Ngarua\yahia Racing Club’s annual meeting (non-totalisator) was held to-day in fine weather. There was a good attendance of the public. Useful fields were engaged and interesting racing was provided. The following are the results: TRIAL HANDICAP, Of £l2; 6 fur. MANGU KING, Mr. A. Mangu King began best, showing the way along the back to Day /Abbey, Cross Stitch and Miss Joyce. < Crossing the top Mangu King was still well clear, the other three being on terms. Mangu King turned for home in front of Cross Stitch, Miss Joyce and Day Abbey. Mangu King won nicely by two lengths . from Cross Stitch, who was half a length in front of Day Abbey. Miss Joyce was fourth, with Homelight and Rangihau in that order. Time, 1.19. TROTTING HANDICAP, Of £l2; limit, 3.54; li miles. CONDER BELL, Mr. J. G. The quartette went away well, White Raven leading through . the straight three lengths in front ol Conder Bell, with five' lengths hack was Our Peter, while Jersey Thorpe was 20 lengths further away. Going along the back seretch the three leaders joined issue, but Conder Bell was clear into the straight from Our Peter. This pair fought the issue out, Conder Bell winning by a length from Our Peter, who was two lengths in Iront of White Raven. Jersey Thorpe was only a neck further away. Time, 3.41. Paterson, Te Rapa. Musquin lost a lot of ground at the start. Etelii Rangl began smartly, and crossing the top was six lengths clear of Rangikaha, with Fraser, Cross Stitch and Musquin racing in that order. Rangikaha and Etehi Rangi were practically on terms as they levelled up in the run home. This pair were fighting it out when Fraser ranged on the scene with a well-timed run and got the verdict by a neck from Rangikaha, who was a head in front of Etehi Rangi. Musquin was fourth. Gilmer) ; Unoco, 8.5, car 8.0 (C. Thompson). . . Winner trained by A. P. Brady, Te Rapa. From a good start Steady Fire had charge from Hakanoa, Unoco, Ballachulish and First Lap. Going along the back there was no change in the position. The field had closed up crossing the top, Steadyflre leading into the straight a length in front of Ballachulish and Hakanoa (together) with First Lap handy. A keen finish saw First Lap win by half a length from Balia-

chulish who was a neck in front of Steady£>re. Hakanoa was fourth with Unoco handy. Time, 2.10 1-5. Mr A. 11. Waring, Patron of the Club presented the Silver Cup donated by the residents of Waingaro and Te Akau, to the trainer of the winner.
