SOCIAL NOTES.

Mrs C. A. Cherrington, who accompanied her husband, the Bishop of the Waikato, to England for the Lambeth Conference, returned to New Zealand yesterday by the Marama from Syd-' ney. She was accompanied by Miss Forrest, of Hamilton.

Mesdames D. Brock (Christchurch) and ,E."J. Brock (New Plymouth) are at ,the Hamilton Hotel.,

Mrs. A. E. Manning has returned to Hamilton after spending some months in Europe. She arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Marama from Sydney.

Mrs. W. H. Miers, of Rototuna, is in Palmerston North.

Madame Cerani, of Hamilton, returned from Auckland to-day.

Mrs M. Spencer, formerly of Hamilton, who has- been living in England for some years, returned to New Zealand yesterday, to make her home in Wellington.

Miss Margaret Mears has returned to Hamilton from a visit to Auckland for Founders’ Day at the Diocesan Girls’ School.

Mrs McGovern, formerly of Hamilton and her niece, Miss Syvayne, of Cambridge, have returned home from a holiday in Sydney.

Mrs H. Rolfe has returned to her home in Claudelands after spending some weeks in a private hospital, where she underwent an operation.

Miss Ethel Hammond, of Hamilton, who has been holidaying in England and on the Continent, has returned to Hamilton. She arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Marama from Sydney. * * * *

Miss Patricia Allen, of the Isle of Wight, who has been visiting Morrinsville, left by the Tofua on a trip to Samoa.

Miss 'Cherry Anderson, of Auckland, visiting the Waikato for the HardyAlien wedding in Morrinsville to-day.

Mrs. Wilson, of Auckland, is visiting Morrinsville for the Hardy-Alien 'wedding to-day. „

Miss Beryl Houghton, of Auckland, is visiting Morrinsville. Later she will be the guest of Mrs/ George Hampton in Gordontoh.
