LATE LADY CARROLL.
THE FUNERAL RITES. (Bv Telegraph.—Press . Association.) GISBORNE, Tuesday. Delegates from most of the tribes of this and neighbouring districts are now in residence in the grounds of the late Lady Carroll, preparing for the final burial rites. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon at the private burial ground at Makaraka, where the remains of the late Sir James Carroll lie, and the indications are that the burial will be accompanied by ceremonies quite as impressive from the Maori point of view' ■as those of her late husband some two years ago.
