UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD

NOMINATIONS RECEIVED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. The Sheepowners’ Federation has decided to nominate Mr E. A. Fowler, of Wellington, as a representative of primary producers on the Unemployment Board. The Federation of Master Printers has decided to submit the name of Mr Francis Leigh Hutchinson, secretary of O’Brien and Company, Limited, boot manufacturers, Christchurch, as a representative of the secondary industries on the board.

NOMINATIONS WITHDRAWN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. A decision to take no part in the selections of nominees for the Unemployment Board was made by the General Labourers’ Union to-night. The meeting expressed itself as dissatisfied with the altitude of the Minister and decided not to do anything in the matter until there was a proper election. The two delegates nominated withdrew their nominations, this step being endorsed by the meeting.

MANUFACTURERS’ NOMINEE. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. The New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation has selected Air F. L. Hutchinson, of Christchurch, as its nominee.

ATTITUDE OF SEAMEN

WILL NOT NOAIINATE ANYONE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Endorsing the action of the Alliance of Labour regarding a representative on the Unemployed Board the Federated Seamen’s Union today resolved not to nominate any person or support any candidates nominated.
