BRAZIL’S NEW REGIME.
POLICY ANNOUNCED. NO ACTS OF VENGEANCE. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. i. General Getulio Vargas, having entered in triumph at the head of the revolutionary rriilitary forces, amid the acclamation of the citizens, has assumed the provisional Presidency. He announced to-day important items of the policy of the new Government. These include the dissolution of Congress and the reform of the Courts. General Vargas promises the punishment of all persons guilty of the criminal use of public funds, but says: “We will wreak no vengeance on the members of the deposed Government. We have always criticised the vengeance and persecution of the late Government, and do not intend to lay ourselves open to similar criticism.”
