GISBORNE POWER BOARD.
—o- • SUPPORT BRITISH GOODS. HIGHEST TENDER ACCEPTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Saturday. The Power Board' rejected a proposal that its trading department be closed down, the majority holding that this department had done much to promote the use of electricity. The hoard had before it two tenders for time switches, one being a Swiss tender at £2(12 15s, and. the other a British tender at £298. ■ The chairman moved that t.he lowest tender be accepted, but the majority held that British firms should he given preference' and the higher tender was accepted.
