IN THE DIVORCE COURT.
THREE FILM ACTRESSES. Two film actresses, Miss Jocelyn Lee and Miss Lina Basquette, both of whom were formerly in the Ziegfeld Follies, have just appeared in the divorce court at Los Angeles. .Miss Lee was married only three months ago to Mr Luther Reed, the film director. Her husband sought a divorce on the ground of his wife’s “unreasonable jealousy and profane abuse in public places.” He alleged that she hurled dishes at him and scratched his face. Miss Basquette has been divorced by her husband, Mr Peverell Marley, on grounds of “jealousy.” She was treated for poisoning in a hospital, and, according to a policeman’s statement, admitted she had attempted to commit suicide. It was stated she had been worried because the family of her former husband, the late Mr Sam Warner, the film magnate, had not allowed her the care of her little daughter. Gloria Swanson, alleging desertion, has filed a suit for divorce against Marquis Henry de la Coudraye. Miss Swanson has been divorced on two previous occasions, her former husbands being Wallace Beery and Herbert Somborn. She has one daughter.
