COUNTRY WOMEN’S CLUB. An enjoyable afternoon was spent by the members of the Country Women’s Club,'•when Mrs Kent Johston gave an interesting account of a recent trip to Auckland. Visits were made to' St. Mary’s Homes, the Chapel at King’s College and- the Fabian Society.' Mrs Marou and Mrs Foster sang several songs, and Mrs Linder and Miss Pamela Linder recited. Miss Hills, the club’s president, thanked Mrs Kent Johnston and her friend for providing a very enjoyable afternoon. Afternoon tea was served at the conclusion- of the afternoon. Social Evening. Last Thursday evening the members of- the Presbyterian Church at Te Pahu, held a social evening. Games and several competitions met with keen interest, the treasure hunt being most popular, the winners being Mrs Hills and Mrs Watt. 'Personal. Miss Elsie Whittaker, who has been an inmate of the Waikato Hospital, has returned to her home. Mrs M. J. Corcoran's many friends will be pleased to hear she is making a speedy recovery, and is at present staying with her mother, Mrs Butler, Albert Street, Claudelands. Miss Eve Hardy and Miss Joan Veale, Tamahere, have been visiting Mrs J. Bollard,, “Stonyford.”
