Fifty are dead and several hundred injured as the result of a disastrous earthquake In Eastern Italy, Including Trieste, Padua, , and Florence. The centre of the disturbance Is the little Port of Slnigaglla in the Adrlatlo, where twenty bodies have bee/i recovered from wrecked houses. Several are dead at Ancona, where there was serious damage. Mt. Vesuvius Is aotlve and belohlng smoke and ashes.
