HOW TO WEAR BROOCHES
Have you noticed the curious way in which people now wear their brooches? A year ago there was only one position for a brooch on a frock, and that was somewhere near the left shoulder; on a hat everyone wears a brooch right in the centre of a line with the nose. Now all that is changed, and you can detect a chic woman by the position she chooses for the wearing of this accessory.
Jewellery of all kinds is so fashionable that frocks are designed to form a background,for it. At a very smart dress show the other day one of the mannequins was wearing a diamond clip-on brooch in the front of her frock in a way which seemed to hitch it up and form the entire front drapery! The frock would have been nothing without the. brooch. Clip-on brooches are the only things to wear on the small hats which are being favoured at the moment,. even the little tweed caps have to be adorned with these diamond clips. A few years ago it would have been considered bad taste—to-day it is the thing to do. And the large hats, with their small crowns and dropping brims, which are definitely coming into vogue this summer, are as reliant upon a well-placed brooch for their decoration.
