MIRAMAR LADIES’ TOURNEY. MISS G. LASCELLES WINS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Unpleasant weather prevailed at Miramar to-day for the final of the Miramar Ladies’ Golf Club’s' open tournament. A very close game resulted in the semi-final between Miss G. Lascelles (Royal Melbourne) and Mrs Cook (Castlecliff). The game was taken to the 19th green before Miss Lascelles could claim a victory. In the other semi-final Miss M. Ward (Wellington) beat Mrs Stout (Wellington), 5 and 4. In the final Miss Lascelles had a sweeping victory over Miss Ward, 6 and 5.
OKOROIRE CLUB. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. A gala golf day held on the Okoroire golf links proved most popular l and enjoyable. A large nnumber of visitors were present. The competitions attracted big entries, and were keenly contested. No fewer than 40 competitors took pari in the mixed foursomes and 37 in the driving copetition. Great praise is due to the hard-working and popular president of the club, Mr F. J. R. Goodwin, for the success of the day. The organisation of the events left nothing to be desired. After the competitions the president presented the trophies won by the members of Hie club during the season, and also those competed for during the day. The club competitions resulted as follows:—Ladies’ championship, silver cup, Mrs 11. Conder; men’s championship, silver cup, Mr E. Harwood; ladies’ handicap, cup, Mrs H. Conder; Mrs Higgenson’s trophy l'or runner-up, Miss E. Goodwin; men’s handicap, silver cup, .Mr 11. Gonder; ladies’ gold medal, for winnei 1 of most medal rounds, Mrs 11. Conder; men’s gold rnedal, Mr H. Conder. Silver Spoons for medal rounds were won by Mesdames Dee and 11. CondeiS and Miss E. Goodwin, Messrs W. Rice, H. Conder, S. Brown and E. Harwood. The gala day events resulted:— Ladies’ medal handicap, Mrs H. Conder; men’s medal handicap, Mr L. Hancosk; mixed foursomes, Mr Alquist and Miss Hewett, after tleing with Mr J. Murphy and Mrs Wilding.; ladies’ driving competition, Mrs F. G. Barnett; men’s driving competition, Mr J. O’Neill; ladies’ approaching and putting, Mrs H. Conder; men’s approaching and putting, Mr H. Conder; clock folf, ladies, Miss Park; clock golf,,men, Mr J. Murphy; Hot Springs championship, silver goblet, won by Mr F. J. R. Goodwin. This presentation was made by Mr N. L. Higgenson.
