TAUPIRI GUN CLUB.
- OPENING. The official opening of the club took place in ideal weather on Wednesday. The president, Mr F. Durbridge, welcomed the many visitors and members of the club to the opening shoot of flic newly-formed club. Eigh competitions were got off during the day. Under the capable management of the secretary, Mr R. T. Hill, everything ran smoothly and the visitors were well pleased with the day’s sport. They considered the spot chosen an ideal ground for the purpose. Mr 'A. 11. Waring, patron of the club, flred the first shot. Results were as under:— Six-bird Sweepstake (14 competitors). —Turner (Taupiri), Alexander (Taupiri and Parlour (Morrinsville) tied with the possible. Ten birds for C.A. Co.’s Trophy and Sweepstake (26 competitiors).—J. Wright (Taupiri) won the trophy. Earle (Hamilton) was first in the sweep, and Turner, Berry (Taupiri), McNiel (Pukekolie) tied for second. Six-bird Sweepstake (19 cmnnelitors). —Bossard (Huritly), Cathcart (Pukekolie), Reynolds (Pulcekohe), McNiel and Reisop (Taupiri), tied with the possible. Five Birds American Sweep (13 competitors).—Turner, Earle, Bossard and Peach (Taupiri), tied with thepossible. Six-bird Sweepstake (16 competitors). —O’Kane (Hamilton), Earle, Peroival (Hamilton) and Bossard, tied with possibles. Six Birds, Club Members, Novice (12 competitors)tG. Grant (Taupiri), first, with possible; McCurdy, Keleher and Durbridge, .tied l'or second. tux-bird Gimcrack (10 competitors). —O’Kane, first, with possible; Bossard and Reisop, tied for second. Six-bird Sweepstake (8 competitors). —Bossard and Earle tied with possibles.
