GLEN AFTON COLLIERIES.
miners idle to-day. TROUBLE OVER SATURDAY WORK. (Special to Times.) HUNTLY, Saturday. The Glen Afton Collieries are idle to-day. As a result of a visit of Miners’ Union delegates, representinb the coalminers of the North Island, to Glen Afton recently, the manager of the company was advised that the miners would not work on back Saturdays. A meeting was held yesterday afternoon after the close of work, and it was decided to work as usual. However, another meeting was held at the pit-head this morning, and it was decided by the men not to work, and they returned to their homes.
