GIRL GUIDES.

Forget-me-not Patrol, First Hamilton Company, writes: As the majority of the Guides' mothers prefer 2 o’clock we are going to meet at 2 instead of 5. We opened our meeting with roll-call and inspection, after which we practised the Maori haka that we are going to do at the rally in February. We were then’ dismissed to our patrol corners. Then we had a practice of right dressing. After Morse drill we did “Gathering Peascods” and several other folk dances. Captain then blew her whistle, and we had a game on the Guide Laws, which we were successful enough to win. The meeting then ended after a little singing and "Taps.”

Bantam Patrol, First Claudelands Company, writes: At our last meeting we spent a very Interesting afternoon.

At horseshoe two recruits were ! enrolled as Guides, and the Patrol Cup was presented this time to the Swallow Patrol. Before- being dismissed from horseshoe we sang a Guide hymn. After a few minutes in patrol coz-ners we got ready for country dancing. We were taught a new dance called “Hunsden’s House” that we are to do at the rally for the Chiefs. Wheri we had mastered this we began to learn a Maori welcome which also comes into the programme of the 1931 rally. To-day was a great day for our Brownies, as it was their first birthday, and- they were to have a party at Brown Owl’s home. Owing to the Browines’ party captain left early, and the rest of us practised country dancing. When we had finished this we sang “Taps" and wer# dismissed.
