AUSTRALIAN PRODUCE. SYDNEY, October 24. The following are to-day’s quotations on the Sydney market: — Wheat-Bulked, 2s 9§d, bagged, 2s 10£d; flour,—£B 15s; pollard Tasmanian, £9 10s, Victorian, £8; onions,—Victorian Spanish, £4 10 s; oats, —white, 3s Algerian, 4s; maize,—4s to 4s 6d. LONDON, Oct. 23. At the sheepskin sales, 6324 packages were catalogued, including 3917 Australian and 1047 New Zealand. It was a good general selection. Moderate competition was met with, about half, being sold. Merinos’ combings declined 20 per cent compared with September 4; clothings were neglected and dropped from 20 to 25 per cent; crossbreds, 15 per cent.

Dalgety and Co., Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London house, dated- October 23: — Sheepskin sale: There was a good attendance. Competition was irregular and hesitating. Withdrawals were heavy. Home trade buyers were inactive. The demand was fair for America and the Continent, except France, which was not operating. As compared with the closing rates of the last series Merino combing 1 were 15 per -cent, to 20 per cent, lower; Merino clothing, 20 per cent, to 25 per cent, lower; crossbred combing, 15 per cent, to 20 per cent, lower; crossbred clothing, 20 per cent, to 25 per cent, lower; crossbred medium and course, 10 per cent, to 15 per cent, lower. AUCKLAND PRODUCE. Wheat. —Fowl wheat is firm at 8s ex store. All wheat prices seem likely to hold, sheltered under the sliding rate of duty. Oats. —Weaker at 4s 8d ex store for B grade, with demand very slow. Chaff.' —The market is steady, with a restricted demand for southern at £lO ss. Prices to arrive from Tasmania have ranged from £8 15s to £9 10s, and heavy deliveries will be made from the ship’s side. Oats and Pollard. —Bran is slow of sale at £B, but stocks are so heavy in pollard that some importers are even cutting the nominal quotation of £7 10s. Maize. —The market is not at all strong, and full quantities are offering at 6s ex store. Potatoes. —The present quotation is £0 to £6 10s, but none will arrive next week from Canterbury, so it is uncertain how the market will move. Onions —The market is firm for the limited stocks held, Canadian selling at 17s 6d in bags and Californian at 19s 6d, with cases Is Gd higher. Poultry.—Cockerels, heavy breeds, prime, Gs to 8s each; not prime, 4s up; light, prime, 4s to Gs 6d; not prime, 3s Gd up; fat roosters, heavy prime, 2s 6d to 3s Gd; light, 2s to 2s Gd; fat hens, heavy, 4s to ss; light, 3s to 4s; drakes, young, prime, 3s Gd to ss; old, 3s to 3s Gd; ducks, young, 4s to 4s 6d; old, 3s to 3s Gd; geese, 4s Gd to Gs; turkey hens, 5s Gd to 9s; gobblers, 10s to 18s Gd; cockerel chicks, heavy, 9d to 2s Gd; light, 3d to 2s; day-old chicks, 8.0., Gd.to 9d; L., 6d to 9d; guinea fowls, 4s to Gs; ducklings, 9d to Is 3d. Dairy Produce. —Hen eggs, special grade, Is 5d a dozen; A grade, Is 4d; B grade, Is 3d; C Grade, Is Id; duck eggs special grade, Is 4d a dozen; A grade Is 3d; B grade Is 2d; C grade, is Id. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, 1 Hamilton, have received the following cablegram from their London house dated 22nd instant:—Tallow.— Fine mutton, 30s (September 17, 30s 6d); good beef, 29s Gd (30s); mixed, 26s (27s 6d).
