ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
STRUCK BY TIMBER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WESTPORT, Thursday. A bridge worker named Beltrami, who is employed by the Public Works Department at Cascade, was struck on the head by a heavy piece of timber. He suffered severe head injuries, from which there is little hope of recovery.
FALL FROM A TREE. WAIIII, Thursday. While Mr K. N. Holdaway was collecting, pine cones from a tall tree on his farm at Waimata he lost his footing and fell heavily to the ground. When picked up he was unconscious.
