LOCAL OBSERVATIONS. ! Miss Budd, of Balfour, M. Irvine and Webster, Ltd., supplies the following observations of the weather: — Thermometer. Max. Min. Thursday . 68.00 43.00 Friday . . 67.00 44.00 Barometer. Thursday 29.75 Friday 30.00 Barometer 30.00, with very little movement. Indications are for partly fair and partly overcast weather to-day. Warmer temperatures, winds variable and occasional showers. The rainfall for the' previous 24 hours amounts to 0.24 points. Mean temperature, 55.5 degrees.
The Weather Bureau wires: The indications for 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day are for westerly winds, moderate to strong and veering by west to north and freshening. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled, with spattered showers. Barometer unsteady, but has a falling tendency.
