CHEAPER TO PAY LICENSE. HAMILTON MAGISTRATE’S COURT. Samuel Brown, charged with operating a motor lorry in Victoria Street, with a greater load than he w-as licensed to carry, was fined £3, with costs 10s, by Mr Wyvern Wilson, S-M., in the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court this morning. Frederick William Carvell, was fined £3, with costs 10s, on a charge of having no heavy traffic license.' . ~ Defendant pleaded as an excuse that lie was not in a position to pay the license. His Worship pointed out that it was cheaper to pay the license fee than to pay flues. A license fee would last for twelve month*. ...
