Sir James Gunson returned to Auckland by the Aorangi last evening after a business trip to the United States. Mr G. A. Troup, Mayor of Wellington, returned by the Aorangi last evening from a short health trip to Vancouver. The premier of New South Wales. Mr T. R. Bavin (says a Sydney cable), is making an excellent recovery after his recent operation. The Rev. F. H. Wilkinson, M.A., of Wadestown, has been appointed Moderator of the Wellington Presbytery for the ensuing six months. Mr J. A. Young, M.P. for Hamilton, will leave by the Limited express tonight to attend a meeting of the Education Committee at Wellington to-morrow. ■ Mr W. Lee Martin, M.P. for Raglan, will leave for Wellington to-night on business in connection with his constituency. lie will return to Hamilton on Thursday. Messrs T. Woolley, TI. F. Churton, •A. McR. Forbes, A. F. Chapman, R. 11. Montgomerie (Auckland), G. Hewitt (Marlon), P. FI. Bourke (Wellington), U. J. Summerville (Waiuku), L. M. Barriball and J. G. Holmes (Olaua) are at the Hamilton Hotel. The Hon. J. E. Fenton, Australian Minister of Trade, arrived at Auckland by the Aorangi last evening. He is returning after representing Australia at the Naval Disarmament Conference in London. Mr Fenton ccVferred in Auckland to-day with the Hon. P. A. de la Perelle, Minister of Industries and Commerce.
