PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MORRINSVILLE BRANCH. The tenth annual meeting of the Morrinsville branch of the Plunket Society was fairly well attended. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs ,T. J. Seales; secretary, Airs P. Petry; treasurer, Airs J. Boles; vice-presidents, Alesdames E. 11.. Hutchins,. W. AlcPherson, W. Harden, S. Alorr'ow, Aitken, senr., and T. E. Marlin; committee, Alesdames L. E. Pole, L. Echlin, T. Brodie, J. L. Faulkner, J. Crickett, Crabtree, L. Bailey, C. A. Port, S. .Br.ewis, Blaker and W. Buller. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Airs F. J. Alarshall, the retiring president, who has served on the committee ever since ■ the branch was founded ten years ago, and was president for several years. The report stated that the year had
been moderately ' successful. The number of -visits paid to the society’s rooms had totalled 2452, an increase of 349 over last year. Owing to the increase in the amount of work in'the Morrinsville district it had been necessary. to secure two ‘ additional' visits each month from the nurse, who now pays six visits a month to Alorrinsville. . . The balance-sheet' showed a credit balance of £ll 12s lOd. A successful street stall had been'held, which realised £l7 19s lOd, but subscriptions for the year had shown a decrease. The principal expenses were: Nurse’s salary £35, baby foods £79 10s. The nurse’s report stated that for May she had paid seven visits to-, the rooms at Alorrins'ville. There were 15 new cases during the month (eight mothers and seven babies). During the montli 240 visits were paid to the rooms, comprising. 122 adults, 96 babies and 22 other ■ children. ./ ,
