MOTOR CAR WRECKED.
COLLISION WITH A POST. DRIVER ESCAPES INJURY. (Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAWERA, Monday. A motor lorry crashed into a telegraph pole near Manaia and was almost totally wrecked, while the pole was split from top to bottom. ' It is believed that a mishap to the rear under-carriage resulted in the machine becoming unmanageable. The rear axle and a wheel separated from the body of the lorry as it struck the pole. The lorry travelled several yards before capsizing in the middle of the road. The driver, Mr N. Murray, escaped serious injury.
