GAME AT HINEMOA PARK. HAMILTON JUST DEFEAT MAORIS. MARGIN OP TWO POINTS. The Hamilton League thirteen defeated the Huntly -Maori team by 10 points to B‘on Hinemoa Park on Saturday. The visitors fielded a very weighty team and with the ground damp had the advantage. The following were the teams: — Hamilton. —■$. Muir, J. Hynes, T. Shaw, D. Whatu, Graham, Dratham, Whatu, Glasgow, Paget, Quinn, Hogan, Papisch. Maoris.—K. Taho, H. Tarawhiti, P. Mild, J. Waikato, D. Mild, B. Paki, Sharkey, H. Paul, Tetahi, J. Puaha, D. Kaweroa, J. Haunui, G. Korena. Soon after the kick-off the Hamilton backs all handled the ball, J. Hynes going over in the corner, but he re'ceived his pass offside and the Maoris cleared. Glasgow and Quinn carried the play ■ down again, but w’ere held up for an infringement. Hynes received the ball and equalised the score with a good kick. Hamilton 8 Maoris 8 Graham started the backs moving again, but they were again held up # on the line and the visitors cleared ‘from the scrum. Both Teams Strive Hard. Interesting play in mid-field followed, both teams striving to gain the advantage. The local forwards were proving superior, but the visiting backs always managed to carry play out of their danger zone. Mild and Tarawhiti were prominent once again, but a neat piece of play and a good line kick by S. Muir eased the pressure. The visiting backs took play to Hamilton’s twenty-five and a great dribling rush by Hogan saw the visitors in danger.
