PLANE FORCED DOWN.
ENCOUNTERED ENGINE TROUBLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. An aeroplane piloted by Mr Fowler, with Mr G. Nichols, of Gisborne, as passenger, encountered engine trouble when flying past Kaikoura to-day and was forced down. The machine ran into a gorse hedge, the propeller being split and the undercarriage damaged. The occupants of the aeroplane were not injured.
