There are several press suggestions that the Birthday Honours are likely to contain a handsome honour ta Sir Joseph Ward, though It Is Improbable It will be a peerage. Even that would not be Inappropriate as with the exception of Sir Charles Clifford, Sir J. G. Ward is the only New Zealander who has received hereditary title.
