1 TRIAL GAME AT HUNTLY. THE TEAMS SELECTED. The selectors of the South Auckland Rugby League, Messrs W. Taylor (Hamilton), W. Menzies (Ngaruawahia), and* A. Harlock (Huntly), have chosen players to compete in the match Probables v. Possibles, at Huntly on Saturday next. In view of the match against Auckland on May 31, the selection has caused no little interest, and a great side will be fielded against Auckland. The teams are:— Probables. —Fullback, S. Muir; three-quarters, Pat Mild, G. Paid, and J. Muir; five-eighths, Wilson (first) and Wiri Mild; halfback, E. Abbott; forwards, Timms (breakaway), Laid, Stu’bbings, Glasgow, Menzies, Paul. Possibles. —Fullback, Geo. Tittleton; three-quarters, Kelly, Scott, Heta Terawhiti; five-eighths, Williams (first) and Garry; forwards, .Tones (breakaway), Hogan, Benjamin, Quinn, Stephenson, Trautvetter.

At a meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby League the importance of the selection of a financial and player manager to the New Zealand team to tour Australia was discussed at some length by Mr C. Adamson. He said the New Zealand League should give due consideration to nominations from affiliated leagues. It was decided to support the nomination of Mr W. J. Hammill (financial) and Mr E. K. Asher (players). Mr Ivan Culpan declined to accept nomination. Mr R. Doble, delegate to the New Zealand Council, reported that a further trial match for selection of the team to Australia would be played as a curtain-raiser to the North v. South Island fixture on June 14.
