SHOOTING SEASON.
EAST COAST VISIT. LOCAL SPORTSMEN’S TRIP. A party of sportsmen, Messrs W. Everest, D. D. Wilson and J. Lyons, of Frankton,. recently returned from a shooting excursion of four days in the Rangataiki Swamp area. They found pheasants in good supply, but ducks were scarce, having sought sanctuary. As the shooting season in the Tauranga County will not open until June 1, the prospects on the East Coast will be best ivrom that period, when no area restriction will obtain.
