New Zealand Jonathans won the Southern Hemisphere championship for apples at the Chelsea Flower Show; defeating Australia and South Africa. The Port Caroline’s, Corinthic’s, and Northumberland’s New Zealand apples realised as under: —Jonathans, 12s to 14s; Delicious, 12s to 13s; Sturmers, Gleopatras, and Dunns, 13s to 15s. The Port Caroline’s New Zealand pears realised: —Winter Nellis, 4s to 5s 6d; Josephines, 5s to 5s 6d per single tray; double trays, Barrys, 6s 6d to 7s; Victars, 5s 6d to 6s.
