STOCK SALE.

AT FRANKTON YARDS. ALL YARDINGB SMALLER. * AUCTIONEER’S REPORTS. At the weekly stock sale at th§ Frankton saleyards yesterday beef, sheep and pigs were yarded in smaller numbers than usual. Ox beef quotations ruled as at previous sales, though cow and heifer beef was easier. Sheep rates showed a slight decline in value, though pig prices - remained on a par with last 'week’s prices. There was a good yarding of baconers, porkers and store pigs, late rates being maintained throughout. Loan and Mercantile. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton,'report:—At our weekly sale at Frankton yesterday, a fair entry of cattle came forward. Ox beef was penned in large numbers with prices on a par with last week. Cow beef was penned in medium numbers, but the quality was poor. We quote: Medium fat bullocks, £lO/10/- to £ll 2s 6d; lighter, £9 to £9 10s; medium fat cows, £7 14s to £8 8s; light fat cows, £6 15s to £7 2s 6d; killable cows, £5 to £5 15s; vealers, £4; incalf heifers, £6 15s to £7. Sheep were yarded in smaller quantities than last week, and the prices were on a par With prices ruling at late sales. Prime fat wethers, £1 5s 6d to £1 6s lOd; mixed sex wool lambs, 18s 6d to 19s 6d; good hoggets, 18s to £1 0s 3d. Pigs: A good yarding of both fat and store pigs came forward. Fat pigs maintained prices ruling last week while stores and weaners showed an improvement. We quote: Choppers, £4 to £4 10s; heavy baconers, £3 3s to £3 9s; medium baconers, £2 15s to £3; light baconers and heavy porkers, £2 8s to £2 12s; porkers, £1 18s to £2 ss; stores, £1 5s to £1 11s; slips, 18s to £1 2s; wpaners, 12s t® 14s. Dalgety and Co., Ltd. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Hamilton, report having held their weekly sale at Frankton saleyards on Tuesday, May 20, as under: There was a smaller yarding of beef than usual, the quality generally being only fair. Prime bullocks sold at prices on a par with last week. Prime cows and heifers also sold at late rates. We sold medium-weight fat steers at £l.O 10s; prime young cows, £8 to £9 2s 6d; ordinary fat cows, £6 to £7 2s 6d; light Jersey cows, £5 to £5 16s. Only a small number of store cattle was yarded. We sold boner cows at £3; a pen of good quality Shorthorn heifers in calf, £7 ss; Jersey-cross, weaner, well-grown heifers, £3 10s; dairy cows and heifers, £B, £7 15s, £8 10s, £9 10s, £7 10s. Fat sheep were yarded in average numbers, and prices were on a par with last sale. We sold forward wethers 225, aged ewes in lamb 12s 3d. There was a medium yarding of fat and store pigs. Fat pigs kold at Arm late rates, whilst stores showed improvement. Heavy baconers made from £3 to £3 10s; medium, do, £2 12s 6d to £3; best porkers, £2 Is to £2 6d; light do., 35s to £2; choppers, to £4 ss; large stores, £1 4s 6d to £1 11s 6d; slips, 16s 6d to £1; 10s to 13s 6d.

Vercoe and Go., Lla., report:-—At our weekly stock sale at Frankton yesterday we penned ox and cow beef in large numbers, which sold on a par with last week's rates: — Medium weight fat bullocks sold from £ll to £ll 15s; light weight fat bullocks, £lO 4s to £lO 17s 6d; light and unfinished bullocks, £9 Is to £10; heavy fat cows, £7 15s to £8 10s; lighter, £6 10s to £7 12s 6d;. light, £4 to £5 15s; heavy runners, £3 10sto £3 17s 6d; light, £2 Is to £2 10s. Store cattle came forward in fair numbers and sold at late rates. Fat pigs were penned in small numbers, while stores came forward in greater numbers than usual.
