THEFT AT NGARUAWAHIA
LUMBER JACKET TAKEN. A PLfSA OF GUILTY. Charged with the theft of a lumber jacket, the property of R. M. MacFarlane, Jack Tihana appeared before Messrs H. Marsaland and H. Rogers, J.s.P., at Ngaruawahia, and pleaded guilty. Constable McGruer detailed that accused had purchased goods from R. MaoFarlane to the value of £5, but that did not include the lumber jacket, which he was subsequently found wearing. The Bench told accused that he was liable to three months’ imprisonment. A lenient view was taken, and a fine of £5 imposed, with restitution of £1 8s 6d for the jacket, in default a month’s imprisonment.
