MR A. E. FREDERIC FAREWELLED. POSTMASTER AT FRANKTON. HIS SUCCESSOR WELCOMED. Mr A. E Frederic, postmaster at the Frankton Junction Railway Post Office, will leave to-night by the express to take up his duties as Supervisor of the Parcels Branch, Wellington. On Monday afternoon Mr C. A. Mathieson, Chief Postmaster, of Hamilton, on behalf of the staff of the Frankton Railway Post Office, presented Mr Frederic with a travelling rug as a token of the esteem in which he was held. Mr Mathieson referred to Mr Frederic’s -capabilities as a worker, and expressed regret at his departure. He wished him success in his new sphere. The guest of honour was accorded musical honours. Mr Frederic suitably replied, expressing regret at leaving Frankton, where the staff had worked well with him. Mr Mathieson took advantage of the opportunity to welcome Mr Frederic’s successor, Mr C. B. Tasker. Mr Tasker for the past five years has been the Post Office Marine Agent on the s.s. Makura, s.s. Maunganui and s.s. Marama. He has also held the positions of supervisor of -mails at Wellington, and supervisor of overseas mails at Wellington. Mr and Mrs Tasker and family arrived in Hamilton on Monday. .
