UNEMPLOYED RELIEF.
WORK FOR AUCKLAND MEN. 425 TO BE PLACED. (By Telegraph—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Tuesday. Pour hundred and twenty-five Auckland workers are to he placed in employment as early as ipossible, according to advice received yesterday by Mr. M. J. Savage, M.P. for Auckland West, from Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Lands.
SCHEMES NEAR DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Monday. Hon. W. B. Taverner, who left for Wellington to-day, said Cabinet had approved thfe necessary expenditure for tree-planting on an area of about 600 acres in the Pebbly Hills district, to relieve unemployment. 'The Minister is also in communication with the City Council with the object of the State Forests Service undertaking with the council a scheme in the vicinity of the city for married men and unemployed with dependants.
