“I w’Ould advise the incoming committee to pursue the line taken during the past year—namely, of adding up-to-date attractions to the show,” read the annual report of the president of the Wanganui Agricultural Association (Mr Donald Ross). “During the year as a whole we have held our own," the report continued, “and the winter show proved a payable proposition, and wiped out old liabilities. Unfortunately the Aveather was not good for our November-show, and this camsed a considerable falling off in the gate takings. Membership is a serious matter; we are below the seven hundred mark, and it is necessary that to run the show successfully our membership should be nearer ; the thousand marki”
