WRESTLING.
WALKER BEATB McDOUGALL. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. One of the most strenuous wrestling contests ever held in Auckland was provided last evening by George Walker, heavy-weight champion of the British Empire, and Seotty McDougall, a Scottish-Canadian heavy-weight. Walker won by one fall, awarded in the second round. The decision of the referee greatly surprised McDougall, who walked to his corner with his hands wide apart, indicating to his seconds that he considered one of his shoulders was that far off the mat. Walker’s supporters cheered loudly, but there was much hooting for some time by a large section of the crowd.^ Amateur Preliminaries. Bantam-weight.—K.
