MOVE AGAINST ALCOHOL
ANNUAL MEETING. RALLY OF YOUNG PEOPLE. The hall of the Y.M.C.A. was crowded yesterday for the annual general meeting of the Hamilton Branch of the New Zealand Youth ■Movement Against Alcoholism. Mr A. Gordon, president, was in the chair, and representatives from practically all the youth organisations of Hamilton, heard Mr Lex Miller, the Dominion organiser, speak on "Youth in a Changing World!’’ Mr Miller spoke of the opportunities for moral adventure which are open to youth to-day, and mentioned the ideal which had brought the Youth Movement Against Alcoholism into being, in an endeavour to combat the social evil resulting from alcohol. He explained the methods adopted to bring the temperance ideal before young people, and indicated the place which the movement could All in the Dominion’s youth work. A strong representative committee was elected, and preliminary arrangements made for the carrying out of the work. . Tea was served at the conclusion of a very enthusiastic meeting. ■Before the meeting dispersed, Rev. E. P. Blamires, secretary’ of the Young People’s Department of the Methodist Church of New Zealand, spoke of the the progress which was being made towards co-operative work among young people throughout New Zea-
