AT FRANKTON YARDS. BEEF AND SHEEP PRICES LOWER. AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS. Ox beef quotations were easier than the previous week at the weekly sale held at Frankton yesterday. Sheej quotations were also below last week’s figures, and pig prices remained at the previous sale’s low rates. Beef was yarded in medium numbers, and a fair entry of sheep came forward. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Ltd. report: At the weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards yesterday we had a good yarding of beef and an average yarding of store cattle and sheep. Beef met with fair competition, except bullocks, ■Much were slightly easier than last week’s rates. Fat and store sheep maintained late' quotations. There was a short yarding of pigs, rates being on a par with last week’s quotations. Dalgety and Company. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their weekly stock sale at Frankton yards, yesterday, as under : There was an average yarding of beef. The demand was only fair and generally prices were a shade lower. Prime fat steers, light-weights, sold at up to £l2; small do., £8 15s to £lO 2s 6d; prime young cows and heifers, to £9 15s; heavy fat cows, to £9 10s. There was a' large yarding of store cattle, which met with a weak demand. We sold Shorthorn three year old steers, £8 7s; two year old, do., £6 15s; one pen, do., £5 15s and £o 10s; young Hereford run cows in calf to Polled Angus hulls, £7 10s to £6 10s; Polled Angus cows in calf to Polled Angus bulls, £7 2s: yearlings and store cows at late rates. There was a moderate yarding of fat and store sheep. Fat wethers sold at late rates. Fat ewes were a shade lower. We sold fat wethers up to 26s lOd; light do., 24s 3d to 265; fat ewes (heavy), up’to :l7s ‘id; others, 14s 9d-to 15s 7d We sold store four and six tooth wethers at 2is 9d to 2is lid; smaller, do., 20s Cd to 20s lOd; two tooth wethers, 19s 6d; mixed aged ewes in lamb, 15s; forward shorn lambs, 12s 9d. There was a medium yarding of fat pigs with a full yarding of stores. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., reports.—— At our weekly stock sale at 1 rankton yesterday there was a medium entry of fat store cattle, sheep and pigs. Very little prime ox was penned, and prices for rougher beef showed a slight drop on last week’s values. ■Sheep and pigs remained on a par with late rates.
