“ UNFIT FOR DOGS.” DISGRACE TO THE CITY. That railway freights between Ouean-bcyan and Canberra were very high and undoubtedly needed revision, was tho opinion expressed by Ernest Spendiove, president of the Canberra branch of the 'Master Builders' Association, in evidence before the Public Works Committee, says a Sydney paper. The committee is investigating the proposal to build 36 cottages at Canberra, and according to witness the high freights are a contributing factor to the high building costs in the Federal Capital. Mr Holloway, M.P., described Molonglo tenements as unfit for dogs to live In. “Plenty of people own dogs which they would not dream of housing in one of them. They are a disgrace to tho city," added Mr Holloway.
