The airman Major Gran, who was a member of Scott’s 1910 expedition, is planning an attempt to reach the Soutii Pole by motor-cycle. Accompanied by three companions he proposes to fly from Granite Bay, Boss Sea, to the Plateau, and thence proceed by motor-cycles, each towing a sledge carrying provisions.
