JOHNNY & JOAN
jQ.EAR EVERYONE—“Why!” said John o’ the Woods, “The only thing they do am iss, is to always dance about like this,” and with that he picked up his whiskers (so that he wouldn’t trip over them) and did tho queerest s ort of dance you could Imagine. He stopped panting for breath, “and everywhere they place their toes a horrid toadstool always grows,” or ied he, pointing to what he thought was a toadstool. “ But I’m sure those are not toadstools,” said Johnny. “They are mushrooms and are quite good to eat.” Now old John o’ the Woods had never heard of this, but he made some mushroom stew and when ho tasted it—OOH ! !—he was so pleased with the twins for telling him about it that h. 3 straightway lent them his magic scissors- “Let the fairies free and tell them they may dance in my woods to their hearts’ content. 1 love mushroom stew.” So they left old Johnny munching away while they rushed off with the magic scissors.
