ALLEGED DEFALCATIONS. SECRETARY CHARGED.*BIG AAIOUNT INVOLVED. (By Telegraph.-—Press Association.) TE KUITI, Tuesday. Victor Daniel Wisnesky, secretary to the Waltomo Power Board faced tho charge in the Magistrate’s Court to-day that on or about January 20, 1930, being the servant of the Waltomo Power Board, he did steal the sum of £73 12s, the property of the Waltomo Power Board. Detective White asked for a remand till April 9. Counsel for accused in asking for hail stated that the charge preferred concerned theft of money from a local body, the Waltomo Power Board, and had been laid as Hie result of an audit which was at- present being carried out. The accused has given an assurance that lie would give Hie audit department every assistance in unravelling matters in connection with Hie alleged defalcations. Detective White said that he would not oppose bail. There were, however, other charges pending against the accused in regard to the Power Board’s funds, and it was understood that they would include an amount of not less than £ISOO. An even larger sum might be involved, but this would be decided when the audit of Hie.
