VANDALS AT WORK

LARRIKINS IN HAMILTON EAST. PARK SEAT TORN UP. A regrettable act- of vandalism was perpetrated in Hamilton East over the week-end, when a party of larrikins lore up a public seat, together with its concrete foundations in the rest ground adjacent to Steele Park, and carried it to the far end of the ground. Wanton destruction of public property in this way is hardly understandable, and it is to be hoped that the decision of the Hamilton East Citizens’ Association to place the matter in the hands of the police bears fruition. This delightful rest ground is a decided asquisition lo Hamilton East, and is the outcome of continued negotiations on the part of a live association of citizens on that side of the river. The seat which received the attention of the party of hooligans was purchased by public subscription.
