HAWKE CUP GAME. MANAWATU v. RANGITIKEL LATTER’S STRONG CHALLENGE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Monday. By compiling 177 in their first innings and 474 in their second innings Rangitikei set Manawatu, whose first innings realised 295, 357 to get to retain the Hawke Cup. Features of Rangitikei’s fine score in the second innings were centuries by D. Cameron and Burke, .who scored 160 and 119 respectively. Manawatu at the close of play on Saturday had scored 150 for the loss of two wickets Pacey Passes the Century. The game entered the fifth day of play this morning when Manawatu continued their second innings on a crumbling pitch. Greig and Norris were soon dismissed and the score was 162 for four wickets.
