MATAMATA FAREWELL.

O REV. AND MRS. F. G. BROWN. On Wednesday evening a farewell •vas tendered to Rev. and Mrs F. Gardner Brown in tlie Malamata Methodist Church. A short programme was arranged with Mr P. T. Field in the chair. Community singing lead by Mr H. E. Schofield was heartily entered into and appreciated. Vocal terns were rendered by Mcsdames Aimes lon and Waite and Mr and Mrs Brown, also cornet solos by Mr i\ Bates. The circuit steward, Mr Field, briefly outlined various acoomplishuents during Rev. Brown’s ministry in .latamata. and called upon Mr J. F. .'osper to make the presentation. In handing Air Brown a beautiful travelling rug and cheque, Mr Vosper expressed regret at losing so fine a couple as the Rev. and Airs Brown. Air Brown’s work had prospered and the speaker felt a great deal was due to the faithful and untiring work on the part of Airs Brown. The good wishes of the congregation went with Air and Airs Brown and their small son to the new circuit. Airs P. T. Field also made a presen;ation lo Airs Brown on behalf of the Ladies’ Guild and Auxiliary, in a few well-chosen words, Airs Field thanked Airs Brown for her energetic help in ail the Guild work and asked her to accept a leather hat. box as a token of Jove and appreciation. Airs Brown suitably replied. On behalf of the Afatamata Boys’ Bible Class, Mr Harry Vosper presented Air Brown with a book. In reply, Rev. Brown thanked all present for Ihe kind words spoken aid for tile tokens of love and appreciation. As tie was not going more than twenty miles away lie imped he would not lose touch with the good folk of '.Malamata. At the close of the function supper was served by the ladies of the church.
