MR LEE MARTIN’S TRIBUTE. HIGHER HONOURS FORECASTED. (By Telegraph—Special to Times.) RAGLAN, Saturday. More than once during his tour of the Raglan electorate has Mr Lee Martin sung the praises of the Minister of Public Works. Last night, at a social function given in the Minister’s honour, Mr Lee Martin paid him a still further tribute. “ Mr Ransom's physique,” said Mr Martin, “ denoted strength and his face denoted character. His various addresses throughout the electorate showed that he possessed vision in connection with the future of the Dominion and courage to put into operation what he believed would be in the best interests of the community." (Applause.) Mr Martin added that while he antis not of the same politics as Mr Ransom he would be glad to give him a very hearty welcome to the Labour Party and would be very happy at being able to work side 'by side with him, because the speaker considered the Minister was doing his present job in a very thorough manner. Mr Martin said he was sure Mr Ransom was going to leave his mark upon the Dominion, not only as Minister of Public Works, but he though! the time was coming soon when higher opportunities would be given him. When that lime arrived he was sure that Mr Ransom would not 10l the Dominion down. (Applause.) WELCOMED TO HAMILTON. ENTERTAINED TO LUNCH.

The Minister was entertained by the local branch of the United Party to luncheon at the Hamilton Hotel, when there were present representatives of the Hamilton Borough Council, Waikato County Council, , Waipa County Council, and a number of representative citizens. The Minister of Public Works, Hon. E. A. Ransom, was in Hamilton this morning. This afternoon ho visited Cambridge, Tc Awamutu, Pirongia and Ohaupo, accompanied hv Mr W, Lee Martin, M.P.
